A social worker can help you sort out the hard stuff.

We're an NDIS provider in Canberra. Our social workers help with mental health, housing, family, hospital and the paperwork that comes with all of it.

What is NDIS Social Worker?

NDIS supportt

A social worker is trained to help with your whole life, not just one part of it.A lot of people think social workers only work in child protection. That is one kind of social work. There are many others. We are not part of child protection and we don't work for the government.

An NDIS Social worker can do following things:

What a social worker can help with

Find the one that sounds most like you. Most people have a few of these going on at the same time. That's normal, and you can start anywhere.

Psychosocial Support

Somewhere to talk about how you're really doing, practical ways through the bad days, and getting back to people when you've been on your own too long. You might hear this called psychosocial support.

Housing and where you live

If your housing is unstable, unsafe, or you're trying to move somewhere better.

Employment support

Building confidence to work, sorting out problems at your workplace, and deciding what to tell an employer. Help actually finding a job is funded separately — our employment team can talk you through that.

Family and relationships

When things at home are tense or broken down, or the people caring for you are worn out.

Centrelink, money and legal

Paperwork, debts, tribunals, guardianship, or child protection involvement.

Health and hospital

Getting your health services to talk to each other, and being listened to at appointments.

Is this in my NDIS plan?

Usually yes. Most people already have the money for this and didn't know.

Look for these words in your plan

That's where social work usually comes from. Sometimes it comes from Improved Relationships instead.

This does not take away your support worker hours

It comes from a different part of your plan. Using a social worker will not reduce the help you get at home or in the community.

It works no matter who manages your plan

Self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed. We are a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with you even if the NDIA manages your money. Not every social worker can.

Not sure? Send us your plan

A photo of the budget page is enough. We'll look at it and tell you within one working day whether social work is covered and roughly how many sessions you could have.

What happens after you contact us

Four steps. You can stop at any one of them.

You get in touch

Fill in the form, or call us. You only need to tell us your name and how to reach you.

We call you back

Same working day. We'll have a short chat about what's going on and check your plan covers it.

You meet your social worker

At your home, somewhere in the community, at our office in Watson, or on a video call. You choose.

You decide if you want to keep going

If yes, we write down what you want to work on. Nothing is charged to your plan until you sign an agreement.
