Tim O’Hare holds degrees in Applied Economics and Law from the University of Canberra and has over 20 years of experience working directly with people with disability of all kinds, including three years as a Disability Advocate, NDIS Appeals officer (throughout ACT and Southern NSW), and 8 years as an NDIS specialist support coordinator. Tim has supported people with disability to achieve their residential, employment, and educational goals. Tim has designed, developed, and delivered innovative training in Support Coordination to over 1,000 community sector support coordinators and community organisations across Australia, and has written instructional materials and designed learning experiences to assist new and experienced support coordinators to exceed best practices. Tim worked in a variety of legal positions, including with Slater & Gordon, and with Mark Ireland Lawyers Bathurst, where he worked whilst completing his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, working in family law, criminal law, and wills and estates. Tim has held positions in Commonwealth Government including senior roles as an economist working to improve food security in remote indigenous townships and settlements. Tim has taught Introduction to Economics to the University of Canberra undergraduate students, Negligence Law to Charles Sturt University students, and enjoys his current role in which he shares his knowledge about the NDIS and its processes to benefit his clients, assist in mentoring community sector workers, and people with disability to get the best from the NDIS, and in implementing plans as a support coordinator.
